The Big Apple
What a weekend. I spent a fabulous 3 day weekend in New York City with two mommy friends. We saw three fabulous Broadway shows and ate food like wild mushroom ravioli and almond butter croissant french toast. I felt relaxed, rejuvenated, and cultured. Our first show was Wicked on Friday night. This was fantastic with Stephanie Block playing Elphaba. This one was a drama that makes me look at The Wizard of Oz so differently now. Our Saturday matinee was Hairspray. We were dancing in our seats by the end of this funny, uplifting show. The best part of this one was that Norm from Cheers played the mother. VERY FUNNY. My only fear for this guy was that he might have a heart attack on stage as this is a very gruelling musical and he was obviously sweating. Our last show was Spring Awakenings on Saturday night and this was our edgy show. I really enjoyed this one. It is fairly new and the original cast is still present. There was fair amount of nudity and language in this show and the content of definitely of the adult nature. The music is fantastic.
